Glimpse of Perfection - A learning experience

A few words to start off the photoblog...

There were a few rare moments in my life, where I thought I have caught glimpses of perfection, of life itself. I was inspired, and I wish to learn to tell these stories through my lenses.

In Sense of Beauty, George Santayana speaks of these moments of inspiration:
Our consciousness of the ideal becomes distinct in proportion as we advance in virtue and in proportion to the vigor and definiteness with which our faculties work. When the vital harmony is complete, when the act is pure, faith in perfection passes into vision. That man is unhappy indeed, who in all his life has had no glimpse of perfection, who in the ecstasy of love, or in the delight of contemplation, has never been able to say: It is attained. Such moments of inspiration are the source of the arts, which have no higher function than to renew them.

Perfection is a pretty tall order. You will see many failed experiments in this blog, many displays of inadequate techniques, poor compositions, mundane subjects, so on and so on as I slowly learn the craft. However photography aside, what I wish to share with you is the journey itself - the journey to renew the faith in life, the faith in perfection.

And I shall remain hopeful that one day I may be able to inspire, as I was inspired...
